For fans of John Waters and Artforum, the first week of December offers at least one magical moment. It arrives when the premier art publication shares Waters's annual choices for his favorite films of the year, a compilation of titles that is always unique among year-end top 10 lists. Last year's list, for example, ran the gamut from Edgar Wright's finely tuned popcorn flick Baby Driver to the most recent film from Romanian auteur Cristian Mungiu, Graduation

This year, we were especially excited to see what he selected. Not only are we preparing to host John Waters: Indecent Exposure beginning February 2, but Waters's newest list features four films that played exclusively in Columbus at the Wex—including his number-one for 2018, Jeannette: The Childhood of Joan of Arc (pictured above), by French bad boy Bruno Dumont.
