Melissa Starker & Chris Stults

Starting next Friday, May 29, we'll host the exclusive online presentation of Circumstantial Pleasures, the new film from collage animator and past Wex Artist Residency Award recipient Lewis Klahr. We're thrilled to be able to share this with audiences and so grateful to Klahr for giving us this opportunity.

In 2010, while the filmmaker was working through his residency projects, Film/Video Associate Curator Chris Stults paid a visit to Klahr's Los Angeles Studio to discuss his practice and his work on films including Pony Glass (pictured above), Altair, and Wednesday Morning Two A.M. For this week's #TBT stream, we're resharing the video from Stults' trip. Klahr and Stults will converse again, joined by filmmaker and programmer Courtney Stephens, during a livestream talk on June 5.
