Holiday Sauce… Pandemic!

Virtual | Ohio Premiere

Taylor Mac sits in a red plush chair while wearing festive attire and a snake headdress.

Featuring the multitalented Taylor Mac, Holiday Sauce… Pandemic! blends music, film, burlesque, and random acts of fabulousness to reframe the songs you love and the holidays you hate.

The 2020 Ibsen Award winner and MacArthur Fellow joins longtime collaborators Machine Dazzle (design), Matt Ray (music director), and Pomegranate Arts (producers) to celebrate the holidays in all of their dysfunction. There’s more to the season than rampant capitalism and gift giving, and in Mac’s world, creativity and imagination are their own spirituality. With this virtual vaudeville, Taylor Mac reminds us of the collective power of our chosen families, a message that rings true in this distinctly bittersweet holiday season.

"Mac casts a cathartic spell...for all those who find caroling, eggnog, and enforced family visits destabilizing."
Charles McNulty, Los Angeles Times
