Celebrate our fall exhibitions featuring Carlos Motta and Carol Newhouse—and get an in-depth look at the work on view through spotlight tours.

Carlos Motta: Your Monsters, Our Idols showcases the acclaimed Colombian-born, New York–based artist’s commitment to radical difference and exploration of LGBTQIA+ issues past and present. This largest exhibition of his work in the US to date premieres Motta’s first multichannel sound installation, The Columbus Assembly—supported by a Wexner Center Artist Residency Award.

Sharing Circles: Carol Newhouse and the WomanShare Collective—the first museum exhibition of Newhouse’s photography—explores the collective life of the queer, feminist, land-based community WomanShare during the 1970s and 80s. Sharing Circles emphasizes the role of visual art, especially photography, as a tool of queer world-making.

Explore the open galleries—and enjoy appetizers and a cash bar in the Wex Lower Lobby! Gallery spotlight tours will be offered during the preview, tracing themes of the exhibition through selected works on view. Due to limited space, reserving your spot early is encouraged.* The Sharing Circles tour will feature the exhibition’s cocurators—artist and Ohio State Associate Professor Carmen Winant and Wex Associate Curator of Exhibitions Daniel Marcus—in conversation with artist and historian Leah DeVun, and the Your Monsters, Our Idols tour will feature Motta in conversation with Wex Associate Curator of Exhibitions Lucy I. Zimmerman.

Also on view is Suzanne Silver’s Wex-supported Vanishing Acts in The Box.

*Reservations to the spotlight tours are full! Become a Wexner Center member to enjoy priority access to intimate gallery experiences like this one. Sign up at wexarts.org/join today.
