95 and 6 to Go

Director Kimi Takesue in person

(Kimi Takesue, 2017)

Man near water

Family remembrance turned into a documentary, Kimi Takesue’s 95 and 6 to Go captures the filmmaker’s relationship with her 95-year-old, recently widowed, Japanese-American grandfather, Tom, who lives alone in Honolulu. What begins as Takesue’s gesture toward preserving a familial moment takes a turn as Tom becomes more and more interested in her work and screenplay in progress. (85 mins., DCP)
