WorldView: Cultural Intersections with Image and Identity

wex grid image fill

Every thinking mind needs a worldview. This half-day seminar builds on the cross-cultural understandings and perspectives that engage and influence many contemporary artists. This year’s program features Amanda Rose Wilder’s Approaching the Elephant, an intimate documentary that follows students and teachers at the Teddy McArdle Free School in Little Falls, New Jersey, to see what happens in a learning environment when you experiment with democracy, free choice, and few boundaries.

The program will include a screening of the film, a panel discussion, and facilitated small group talks to explore issues highlighted in the film. Preprogram resources are provided and opportunities for pre- or post-classroom visits may be available upon request to further engage with the topic.

This program fully considers and engages with Common Core Standards. Bus subsidies and lunch are included.
