Sheila Kennedy presents projects that demonstrate the ways contemporary digital technologies and materials intertwine in the work of MATx, a pioneering materials research unit that works across the fields of electronics, architecture, and material design. Sheila Kennedy is one of the founding partners of Kennedy and Violich Architecture. In 2000, she established MATx, a pioneering materials research unit that engages teaching, writing, and applied creative production across the fields of electronics, architecture, and material design. In this lecture Kennedy presents projects that demonstrate the ways contemporary digital technologies and materials intertwine in MATx's practice. She'll also discuss the new sustainable building strategies that have emerged from the unit's research.
