ReelAbilities Columbus, the traveling program of the New York ReelAbilities Disabilities Film Festival, will present award-winning films and engaging special presentations that celebrate the lives, stories, and art of people with disabilities from October 4–7, 2013 at venues across central Ohio. ReelAbilities brings the community together to explore, discuss, and celebrate the diversity of our shared human experience. The universality of disability is made visible through the presentation of films, multimedia, and first person narratives.

Run If You Can is a story about youthful friendships, featuring a love triangle between frustrated Ben, who is in a wheelchair; his playful caretaker, Christian; and Annika, the dreamer, musician, and object of both young men’s desire. (112 mins, DCP, in German with English subtitles)

For accessibility accommodation, please contact Jean Pitman at jpitman@wexarts.org or (614) 292-4614.

The ReelAbilities NY Disabilities Film Festival is presented in Columbus by VSA Ohio, the state organization on arts and disability. The touring program is sponsored by the Saul Schottenstein Foundation B, JCC Manhattan, UJA Federation of New York, Butler Foundation, and Kessler Foundation. Local funding is provided by the Greater Columbus Arts CouncilOhio Arts Council, and the Columbus Foundation
