Dr. Denise Carvalho (Mellon Postdoctoral Fellow for Via Brasil) will present a public conversation with graduate students who have participated in her seminar on 21st Century Brazilian Art and Film. This discussion will examine three main questions/themes in the Cruzamentos exhibition: hybridity, diversity, and the global; the transitory image; and interventionist art and the political public space. The conversation will be open to the public, and the audience will be welcome to ask questions and bring their own ideas during and after the talk.
