Artists and colleagues talk about the art and life of the late Todd DeVriese, a respected artist and beloved friend who was a vital part of this community. The talk is presented in conjunction with the exhibition For Todd DeVriese: In Celebration of a Beautiful Life at the Hopkins Hall Gallery. A reception follows, from 5 to 7 PM, in Hopkins Hall (128 North Oval Mall).

After earning his MFA at Ohio State in 1992, DeVriese returned as an associate professor from 1996 to 2001 and was also active with other groups and events in the community. He left Ohio to become become associate professor and chair of the art department, and later dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, at Zayed University in the United Arab Emirates. He subsequently taught and served as the director of the School of Art at Texas Tech University. In 2009 he joined St. Cloud State University in Minnesota as the Dean of Fine Arts and Humanities, a position he held until his unexpected and untimely death last November. His commitment to higher education and the vital power of the arts was central to his life.
