Artists Ann Carlson and Mary Ellen Strom visit to talk about Geyser Land, a collaborative site-specific installation they presented in Montana last August. From the windows of a train, viewers of Geyser Land experienced Mary Ellen Strom's video projections on the rural landscape, performance tableaux by Ann Carlson, and a sound score by Dan Dobson. The project positioned spectators as tourists and pointed to photography, film, and the railroad as tools of colonialism.

Carlson is an award-winning artist whose work expands the context of choreography, performance, and conceptual art. Strom creates video installation, performance pieces, and site-specific projects. Carlson and Strom's work together is often produced in collaboration with the people who inhabit a place and has been presented in indoor and outdoor venues around Europe and the Americas.

Presented by Ohio State's Department of Art. Cosponsored by the Wexner Center.
