Join us for a free symposium exploring Sleep Deprivation Chamber, a play by Adrienne and Adam P. Kennedy. This Ohio State Department of Theatre symposium features presentations by distinguished scholars and critics, who are joined by the director, designers, and cast of Ohio State's production of Sleep Deprivation Chamber.

The presenters include Paul Jackson (Department of Theatre, Miami University), Caroline Jackson Smith (Departments of Theatre and African American Studies, Oberlin College), and Maurice E. Steven (Department of Comparative Studies, Ohio State University.) Ohio State faculty John Harris (Department of Theater), Valerie Lee (Department of English), and Ruby Tapia (Department of Women's Studies) are part of the discussion that follows.

The symposium is followed by a performance of Sleep Deprivation Chamber at the Roy Bowen Theatre, Drake Performance and Event Center, at 8 pm. The autobiographical drama was first performed at the New York Shakespeare Festival in 1996. For tickets to the performance, contact the OSU Theatre Box Office at 614 292-2295 or e-mail theatre-tix@osu.edu.

This production of the play features digital design animation, and is coproduced with the Advanced Computing Center for Art and Design (ACCAD).

Presented by the Ohio State Department of Theatre and cosponsored by the Wexner Center.
