20th annual Ohio Shorts selections announced

Tue, Apr 21, 2015

Columbus, OH—The Wexner Center is pleased to announce the Ohio filmmakers whose films and videos will be screened at the Ohio Shorts adult and youth division showcase this Saturday, April 25, at 7 pm. The 20 works selected for this year’s showcase include a wide range of styles and genre—from animation to documentary to dramatic fiction. Admission to the screening is $3 for all audiences.

Audience members will be able to vote for their favorite film, and cash prizes will be awarded to filmmakers selected by the audience and jury. A reception featuring the filmmakers takes place in the café after the screening.

Now in its 20th year, Ohio Shorts showcases the talent and diversity of voices of artists and filmmakers based in the Buckeye State and provides them with the opportunity to show their work in a theatrical setting. Works submitted are reviewed by a diverse jury that has included artists, curators, critics, academics, and Wexner Center staff. This year’s jury included Jennifer Lange, curator of the Wexner Center’s Film/Video Studio Program; Jean Pitman, educator for youth programs at the Wexner Center; and Jackie Mantey, a creative writer, freelance arts journalist, and copy writer.
