The acts on this tour are drawn from the lineup of this year's edition of Brooklyn's influential annual Electroclash Festival, organized by Larry Tee.
Taking cues from early 80s synthpop icons such as The Human League and Depeche Mode, as well as that era's plethora of one-hit wonders, today's Electroclash scene is an international phenomenon. Electroclash bands are having great fun rewiring old-school drum machine beats and stripped-down analog synth melodies, then pairing them with oh-so-arch vocals and retro-glam, mascara-in-overdrive style.
Tonight's show brings together the ultraprovocative rudegirl rhymes of the incomparable Peaches and the multimedia performance art spectacle of Berlin-based trio Chicks on Speed, plus the bonus fun factor of Brooklyn faves W.I.T. and Tracy and the Plastics.
Admission$14 students (tickets required)
