Compagnie TcheTche, an all-female ensemble from Abidjan, Ivory Coast, will inspire you with its emotionally driven sense of purpose: TcheTche has a mission to demonstrate the strength and power of women through dance. Led by talented choreographer Beatrice Kombe, the company dispels the all-too-common image of the subservient woman in African society with a passionate dynamism that balances full-force style and quiet strength. Accompanied by live musicians, TcheTche utilizes striking physicality to reveal struggles, sorrows, solidarity, and triumphs.

Presented by the Wexner Center in association with the King Arts Complex.

Funded in part by the National Dance Project of the New England Foundation for the Arts, with lead funding from Doris Duke Charitable Foundation. Additional funding provided by The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation and The Ford Foundation.

Tour support generously provided by CulturesFrance.
