Khaela Maricich, who performs delightfully wry, lo-fi electro-pop under the name the Blow, returns to the Wexner Center with a special show that furthers her keen interest in boundary-blurring performance cabaret with a shimmying beat. Working with her collaborator, installation artist Melissa Dyne, who contributes sparkling visuals, lighting, and sonic elements for the evening, Maricich creates a witty narrative framework with twists about creating demos on spec for a tabloid-target actress looking to her for instant indie-pop cred. At a recent appearance at Joe's Pub, the Public Theatre's music venue, a New York Times reviewer offered this enthusiastic capsule: "The performance was an elaborate cabaret, replete with ornate stories about recording sessions, swapped life tales, and a pair of strappy gold pumps ostensibly given as a gift from (a celebrity muse, who shall go nameless) to Ms. Maricich....
