"These are explosive epics that don't get tired…a best of '07 contender."--NOW

This savvy six-piece band are poised to take off, based on the buzz they generated at this year's SXSW Festival in Austin and the strength of their latest release, even though its title--The Besnard Lakes Are the Dark Horse--plays on their underdog position in the Montreal indie rock pantheon led by The Arcade Fire.

Singer/guitarist Jace Lasek's winning update of classic space-rock grooves and the band's soaring harmonies coupled with atmospheric contemporary riffs are winning increasing numbers of fans who can't get enough the interstellar overdrive sound. In this Beach Boys-meet-Sigur Ros effect, "each element creates a lingering solar eclipse and eternal bonfire" (Austin Chronicle).
