CABARET-STYLE SHOW

"The sheer eclecticism and individualism of his work is remarkable…the product of true inspiration."—AllMusic.com

There's nothing like being in the presence of genius, and Van Dyke Parks is certifiably established in that category. A collaborator with Brian Wilson on Smile, the ambitious suite Wilson called "a teenage symphony to God," he went on to release a series of respected albums as a solo artist, beginning with the cult classic Song Cycle. He's earned a devoted following while taking a truly singular path that's included film and television work, as well as such musical projects as the tasteful orchestrations he's recently framed for Joanna Newsom and Inara George. But his live appearances are few and far between, making this concert a rare treat for discerning fans.

The Brooklyn-based chamber pop band Clare and the Reasons will open the show as well as provide backing for Van Dyke Parks. Fronted by Clare Manchon and Olivier Manchon, their acclaimed sophomore release Arrow included contributions by Van Dyke and Sufjan Stevens. This evening will be presented in our intimate cabaret-style setting—so don’t delay in securing your tickets.

This is a cabaret-style show with beer and wine available for purchase.
