“A magic window into another world that I’d be happy to get lost in, and never come back.”—Drowned in Sound on Newsom’s Ys

Newsom’s career and following have grown exponentially since she fascinated a packed house here in 2005. After the successes of The Milk-Eyed Mender and the majestic Ys (featuring orchestral collaborations with Van Dyke Parks and Jim O’Rourke), Newsom is back at last. The singer, songwriter, harpist, and pianist returns on a tour in conjunction will her eagerly anticipated and third full-length release for Drag City. With a full band, Newsom’s beguiling sound will hover in the intimate Southern Theatre, an ideal setting for one of the biggest shows on our spring calendar.

Robin Pecknold will be the sole opening act for the show.

Ticket prices include a $2.50 CAPA restoration fee.
