Motorpsycho
with Grails and Nadja

Fri, June 20, 2008
Black Box on Mershon Stage
STANDING-ONLY SHOW

“Ample proof of their creative imaginations and musical muscle.” —Dream

Motorpsycho bring equal parts fire and fierce intelligence to their experimental psych-rock. Straight out of Trondheim, they’re among Norway’s more artful exponents of the metal-edged urge. Their sound will satisfy those who enjoy melodic sophistication and compositional intricacy, but they can also deliver buzzing grooves and mega-guitar crunch. Their most recent release for Rune Grammofon Little Lucid Moments sees Motorpsycho revving up the motorik rhythms of krautrock to underscore their progressive sound. The Wire's reviewer called it, "splendid...they've let rip their wildest Prog fantasies...and show their special love for Magma. Little Lucid Moments is fresh, airy and full of spring optimism--composed, rehearsed, controlled and finessed."

See them on this rare U.S. tour with an opening instrumental set from Grails—mesmerizing into-the-mystic rockers from Portland, Oregon—and an starting salvo from Nadja, an electo-metal drone duo from Toronto.
