Gregg Whelan and Gary Winters of Lone Twin employ economical means to lure into you into loveably loopy narratives of their travels and travails. The engagingly off-the-wall British performance duo typically combine offhand conceptual brilliance with warmth and wit in left-of-center pieces concocted from their experiences. On the surface, this charming and deftly pieced together show documents their activities over their first near-decade working together (no conventional markers for these guys, thank you). But soon you’ll pick up on subtler signals too. A strange magic takes over, lending a glow to small coincidences, seemingly happenstance events, and extra-ordinary—extraordinary—moments that pull at your heartstrings.
