"Will haunt the audience long after the lights have faded to black."--
Village Voice

Cynthia Hopkins--writer, composer, singer, and actor--takes us on an amazing journey in her Obie-winning autobiographical performance. She smartly transcends typical cliches of repressed memories and dysfunctional childhoods and instead opts for wit and the immense freedom of her imagination. As she puts it, "I could investigate the dismal truth, or I could create a beautiful fiction."
Artfully wrought alt-country songs expand her confessional, clinical, mystical musings, and she belts outs the tunes like a young Patsy Cline, backed by her band, Gloria Deluxe. Also lending a hand are Jim Findlay and Jeff Suggs--key figures in New York's experimental theater community--who do triple duty as scenic designers, sound and video techies, and performers of funky charm. This is one immersion in amnesia you won't forget.
Please note that the matinee performance previously scheduled for 2 pm on Saturday, May 6, has been canceled.
