Their youthful spirit and lo-fi charm (evident on their debut CD, Hold on Now, Youngster, and the recent We Are Beautiful, We Are Doomed) immediately found favor with fans of such smart-pop bands as Belle and Sebastian. The group's name roughly translates as "the peasants" (and the term is commonly associated with the people's army of the Cuban revolution), but there's nothing commonplace about the snappy joy they spread with their ever-ready glockenspiel and exuberant call-and-response vocals.
Titus Andronicus, a raucous five-piece ensemble from New Jersey, crank it up to kick start the show.
