Pages: An Arts, Literacy and Writing Based Program for High School Students

Teachers, apply now to have your school participate in Pages, an innovative literacy and writing program, during the 2010–2011 school year.

Pages supports the development of students’ skills through the exploration of contemporary art, film, and performing arts. Throughout this yearlong, multivisit program, students are guided to discuss, express, and document in writing what they learn while working with professional writers, artists, and educators in specially crafted experiences at the Wexner Center and at their respective schools. The curriculum fully engages both state and national education standards, and schools from throughout the state are eligible to apply to participate.

Educators from the Wexner Center collaborate with high school teachers in developing writing-based learning opportunities. Typically, each student keeps a journal for the duration of the program, gets an opportunity to connect and blog with other students online, crafts a piece of writing for each of the three experiences, and has an opportunity to publish their writing in a final anthology.
