"Brilliant! I am ready to go buy a jump rope right this second...I genuinely loved this documentary...This story deserves to be seen."—Film Threat

Listen: Interview with the Director

Forget what you think you know about jump roping. Modern competitive jump roping is "part gymnastics, part dance, and part jump rope…easily one of the most compelling, fast-moving sports ever seen" (About Cleveland). This lively and inspiring documentary follows five teams from around the United States (including two from Ohio) who push their physical and psychological limits in pursuit of winning the World Rope Skipping Championship.

The extreme athleticism of the kids combines with astonishingly creative choreography in moves and routines that burst with rhythm, sweat, and originality. Jump roping is still in its infancy as a competitive sport and the memorable athletes you’ll meet in the film are unexpected trailblazers in a field that often seems as much art as sport. The film helps make the case that competitive jump roping should be an Olympic event. Follow the link below to the movie's web site, where you can watch a trailer and find out much more. (85 mins., video)

The Friday night screening is introduced by Tori Boggs, the world record holder for three-minute speed jumping and one of the most memorable athletes profiled in the film.

Tori Boggs will also be on hand for Sunday’s encore screening. Joining her for a post-screening discussion are two other world champion jumpers from the film, Nick Woodard and Jeff Maus. After the brief Q & A, we’ll head next door to Mershon Auditorium for a dynamic jump roping performance and interactive demonstration.

School Screening: Mon, Dec 8 | 12 PM Click here.
