(Marina Zenovich, 2008)

Roman Polanski: Wanted and Desired reopens the case of Polanski’s conviction for unlawful sex with a minor, a decision that has provoked controversy for three decades and kept the famed director from reentering the U.S.

Drawing on unprecedented access to key players including the victim and the lawyers, as well as media coverage, the film is an insightful examination of a case that became the prototype for many future Hollywood courtroom scandals—and an insightful commentary on celebrity culture in America. Polanski’s films include Rosemary’s Baby, Chinatown, and The Pianist, to name just a few. (99 mins, 35mm)
