Canadian all-stars Sandra Oh, Maury Chaykin, Paul Gross, and Callum Keith Rennie lead MacIvor's bittersweet ensemble comedy as the bizarre nature of one day unfolds. A delightful comedy, Wilby Wonderful takes place over the course of one eventful day on Wilby Island, Nova Scotia. Hints of scandals begin to surface as the mayor becomes increasingly drawn to the town's resident bad girl, the video store owner begins a string of half-hearted suicide attempts, and rumors travel regarding an untamed nature spot becoming a gay hangout. This refreshingly gentle tale of hope is also refreshing in its classical storytelling. (90 mins.)
