The inspiring documentary Ruthie and Connie focuses on two Jewish, working-class Brooklyn grandmothers who happen to be lesbians.

Both committed to social activism, Ruth and Connie have taken considerable risks in their lives, jettisoning their previous heterosexual marriages and having to renegotiate relationships with their children, while at the same time establishing new patterns for their social and personal lives as they battle the system for domestic partner rights.
