Here’s a “singing cowboy” double-bill.

In Rainbow Over Texas Roy Rogers falls for an heiress (Dale Evans) posing as a runaway boy while visiting his hometown with his band, the Sons of the Pioneers. (65 mins., 35mm)

In Heart of the Rio Grande, Gene Autry runs a dude ranch while contending with the spoiled daughter of a millionaire, pleading with the audience to buy war bonds (it’s 1942), and finding time to deliver such tunes as “Deep in the Heart of Texas.” (68 mins., 35mm)

Heart of the Rio Grande begins at 8:15 PM.
