Pasolini and the Queer Avant Garde

wex grid image fill

While Pasolini has not always attracted a strong queer following, filmmakers such as Derek Jarman and Isaac Julien have expressed a deep attachment to his work. At this talk, Italian literature and film scholar Derek Duncan explores this connection and how it reinserts Pasolini into a Queer avant-garde tradition of filmmaking. Duncan is a professor in the School of Modern Languages at the University of St. Andrews, UK.

Cosponsored by Ohio State’s Department of French and Italian.
