Museum Hours is a rare pleasure for anyone who delights in an afternoon spent wandering in a foreign city, strolling through a museum, engaging in thoughtful conversation, or watching a great film.

Long-time Wexner Center favorite Jem Cohen has made one of the year’s finest films with this touching story of a friendship that blossoms in a Vienna museum. A woman from Montreal (beautifully played by singer Mary Margaret O’Hara) takes a break from caring for her hospitalized cousin to find solace at the Kunsthistorisches Art Museum. She strikes up a conversation with one of the museum’s guards and finds herself returning again and again to continue their discussions about art, grief, and love. (107 mins., DCP)
