The latest film from Taiwanese master Hou Hsiao-hsien, Millennium Mambo looks back at life in 2001 from 10 years in the future. The film focuses on a beautiful young bar girl, Vicky (Shu Qi), who narrates her own life story in the third person. (115 mins.)

As the film journal Cinemascope notes, Millennium Mambo is yet "another astonishing film from Hou."
