Tonight's program includes Marooned in Iraq, a feature by director Bahman Ghobadi, and a documentary about Ghobadi's work by series organizer Jamsheed Akrami. Also screening is an illuminating documentary by journalist Kevin McKiernan.

Come early for a free reception at 6 pm in the Wexner Center CafÈ. In Marooned in Iraq (2003; 97 mins.), an Iranian musician named Mizra and his two sons search for Mizra's ex-wife, a singer stranded during Saddam Hussein's chemical bombings of Kurdistan in the 1990s. Jamsheed Akrami explores this film with its director in A Talk with Bahman Ghobadi (20 mins.).

Good Kurds, Bad Kurds (2001; 80 mins.) is journalist Kevin McKiernan's illuminating documentary on Kurdish struggles. Noted cinematographer and director Haskell Wexler makes an appearance in the film.
