Mark Osborne Adapting a Classic: The Genesis of The Little Prince Movie

The Little Prince

Academy Award–nominated Kung Fu Panda director Mark Osborne gives us a behind-the-scenes look at his enchanting stop-motion, computer-animated adaptation of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s beloved novella The Little Prince (1943). Osborne will discuss character design and development, storytelling, and the innovative art direction that brought to life this timeless tale about an aviator who encounters a prince from another world.

Join us after the talk at 7 pm for a screening (regular ticket price) of Osborne's adaptation of The Little Prince, which frames the source material with an original story about a little girl who befriends the now-aged aviator. Osborne introduces the screening and engages in a Q&A afterward. (108 mins., DCP)
