The Fly

(Kurt Neumann, 1958)

A perfect mix of black comedy and grotesque seriousness, the original version of The Fly sees a scientist’s matter-transference experiment go wrong, and he ends up swapping his head and arm with a fly’s head and claw (and vice versa). Needless to say, the attempts to reverse the process fail miserably and the scientist's brother (played with delightful bravura by Vincent Price) gradually goes insane, leading to an unforgettable finale.
