The most recent film in this Wiseman series follows women and families as they courageously struggle to escape the cycle of domestic violence. Included on numerous "10-best" lists, Domestic Violence follows a number of women and their children in Tampa, Florida, as they move out of abusive situations and into shelters, where they begin to take control of their lives. As critic Elvis Mitchell noted, the film "immediately shocks us out of our complacency... [and is] ultimately the most compassionate of all the Wiseman films—we come out of it feeling that change is possible, even as the film circles back to where it started." (16mm, 196 mins.)
