Arabian Nights

(Pier Paolo Pasolini, 1973–74)

wex grid image fill

Adapted from the ancient Arabic anthology The Book of the One Thousand and One Nights, Arabian Nights follows the mostly erotic adventures of a young man in search of his abducted slave girl, who escapes, disguises herself as a man, and becomes the ruler of a far-off land. The third installment in Pasolini’s Trilogy of Life is as replete with nudity, sex, and slapstick humor as the first two. (129 mins., 35mm)
