Warhol Farewell Party

Sat, Feb 14, 2009  |  5:00 - 7:00PM
Wexner Center Lower Level

Breaking up is hard to do, so it's ironically appropriate that we say farewell to Andy Warhol, and to Other Voices, Other Rooms, on Valentine's Day weekend. Help us kiss the spectacular show goodbye with chat, snacks, and a cash bar at this free reception.

Want a unique souvenir? You can bid on some of the colorful banners we've used to promote the show--or a lifesize Andy cutout--at an auction conducted by a surprising celebrity during the party. Proceeds benefit education programs at the Wex. UPDATE: Handling the auctioneer duties this evening will be NBC4 meteorologist, and all around art fan, Marshall McPeek.

Extended hours final weekend
The farewell party is only the beginning. We're extending gallery hours on Friday, February 13 (11 AM to midnight), Saturday, February 14 (10 AM to midnight), and Sunday, Februrary 15 (10 AM to 8 PM), so everyone has a last chance to see the exhibition. The Store will be open those extended hours, too, so that you can stock up on Warhol merchandise (on sale). And, to keep you nourished, Cam's on Campus is extending its hours as well: until 8 PM on Friday, and from 10 AM to 5 PM on Saturday and Sunday (with pastries and coffee).

Plus, we've got events throughout the weekend and all over the center to help you celebrate love (tainted or true): a Times New Viking show that explores the darker side of the Velvet Underground, Hitchcock's Vertigo in 70mm, and Japanese theater from chelfitsch, with a special bonus presentation (about romance, of course) on Saturday night.

Members, bring your friends. The farewell party is for everyone at the center. Remember, a ticket to any concert or film admits one to the exhibition on the same day for free.
