Our first Warhol Free Sunday focuses on ideas about identity and the art of drag—both of which have strong connections to Warhol’s work. You can investigate those connections on interactive tours, catch a poetry reading by Peter Oresick from his Warhol-o-rama (a poem-by-poem serial portrait of the serial portrait pioneer) at 1 PM, and a drag show featuring a special performance by Nina West, 2008 National Entertainer of the Year, Virginia West, Alexis Stevens, Maria Garrison and the Rev from the Royal Renegades. You can also try drag yourself: we’ll have make-up, wigs, and outfits to try on, or you can bring your own.
Gallery admission is free all day, 11 AM—6 PM, and Cam’s on Campus will be open from 11 AM to 4 PM featuring a special brunch menu.
