the Artist Ken Lum was born in 1956 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, where he currently lives and works. He has been on the visual arts faculty of the University of British Columbia since 1990, while also maintaining an active record of participation in international exhibitions such as the Venice Biennale (2001), the Havana Biennial (2000), the São Paulo Biennial (1998), the Johannesburg Biennial (1997), and the Carnegie International (1991). He has served as a visiting professor at L'Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris and the Akademie der Bildenden Künste in Munich. In the fall of 2002, the Canadian Museum of Contemporary Photography in Ottawa hosted a major retrospective of his work. |
