| About
the Work Lenticular images once could be found on postcards, cereal boxes, souvenirs, and campaign badges, offering shifting, seemingly animated pictures of winking hula girls, political slogans, and even devotional pictures. Raul Cordero adopts this familiar, kitschy format to chronicle his experiences of traveling, of living away from home. In Residue No. 1 from his ongoing Hello/Goodbye series, he documents his homes away from homethe bedrooms of friends, borrowed apartments, or hotel roomsin photographic lenticulars that show the spaces before and after his use. The exhibited lenticulars represent the artist's sojourns in New York, Paris, Mexico City, Los Angeles, and Columbus. |
