To all who joined us this past Friday for the opening celebration of Gray Matters, thanks for making it one of the biggest openings for a summer show in the center's history. We were fortunate to spend some time with several of the 37 contemporary women artists who make up this dazzling exhibition and over the coming days, we'll be sharing video captured during these visits on our site and social channels. But first, a good listen, courtesy of Michelle Grabner and Carmen Winant. For this edition of WexCast, these Midwestern-based artists, who each have a practice that stretches beyond the creation of visual art, sat down with me for a casual conversation about the connections between their work, some issues surrounding representation of women in the art world, and some personal thoughts on how perceptions about art made and shown in the Midwest may be changing.
