Jerry Dannemiller

Director of Marketing and Communications

Since joining the Wexner Center in 2006, Jerry Dannemiller has charted a course for the center’s marketing efforts with a constant eye toward digital communications and patron experience. Under Dannemiller’s leadership, the marketing department has added a web office and expanded its web site to include rich multimedia content, including podcasts and videos, trailers, “mixtapes,” blog entries, live streaming of select events, new calendar sorting tools, mobile device tools, and much more. In addition, under his guidance, social media has become an integral part of the marketing strategy (with multiple, niched Wexner Center Facebook pages and Twitter feeds), and mobile. At the same time, he oversees the publication of print pieces and advertising campaigns, and has forged new partnerships with local media and marketing firms, that have resulted in giant “wallscape” banners on buildings promotional video screens in downtown Columbus, and long-form video projects, and initiatives that have brought the Wexner Center messaging and visuals to new sets of eyes. Dannemiller has also spearheaded the center's GenWex initiative, curating events to engage young art patrons with the Wex.

Previously assistant director in the new media office in Ohio State's Office of University Relations, Dannemiller has also been a music critic for The Columbus Dispatch, National Public Radio, and salon.com, among other media outlets. He currently serves on the board of local musician assistance non-profit, the Columbus Music Co-op. Dannemiller has a B.A. from Ohio State in communication, and is completing an M.A. in design management and planning from Ohio State's Department of Design.
